Projects while in Idaho/Utah

After finding out that my father had passed away and Tom and I would be leaving for Idaho the next day, I decided that I might want to work on this project while in Idaho. So I pieced a couple of the gloried nine-patch blocks (this time my machine). Needless to say, I didn’t work on it, but it did make me feel better to work on them the day my father died.
Here is a picture to give you an idea of how the quilt top will look like combined with the blocks that my mom make prior to her death.

While in Idaho we (me, Emily and Jennie) HAD to go to Porters. They have some wonderful fabrics and alway have some fun samples. When I went we all just kind of wondered around trying to think of a good reason to purchase fabric. I found these fabrics in a Jellyroll from Moda but just couldn’t come up a reason to make a quilt, so I kept looking. But a few days later I went back and purchase the Jellyroll just because it made me happy.

This was my wise purchase that day at Porters. This quilt will be saved for a wedding gift someday.

Oh Mom I really like those Generations Unite blocks all laid out next to each other. They look great!
