Mary Anne was born in Rexburg, Idaho. She is
the youngest of five children. She started
sewing when she was in 3rd grade. This is
her first quilt. The blocks were embroidery,
sashings and borders added. A small amount
of of hand quilting on the blocks was done and
ties add to complete the quilt.

Y2K Mania
2000-???? |
In 2000 Mary Anne was surfing
the web and discovered a Y2K mystery quilt pattern.
She didn't know anything about this Y2K swapping
stuff, but decided to go to the attic and cut
strips of all the fabrics she had. When her husband came home, he
thought this was a GREAT idea. a FREE
quilt! Little did he know that this project
would create a "quilt" monster. As she worked
on this quilt the
idea of swapping squishies with quilters all
over the world became very intriguing and she decided to give it a try. Ever since
then Mary Anne has been discovering new and different
ways to further her quilting talents. As
for the free quilt - it is on her UFO list of
projects.

"Remaking
the Legacy"
2004-2006 |
After realizing that she had five generations of
quilts in her home, Mary Anne decided to remake
the quilt like the one her great-grandmother had
given her mother for a wedding gift. E-bay
was just the place to find the feedsacks that
she needed. Because of a
surgery and not being able to get to her sewing
machine for awhile, she opted to hand-piece this
quilt top. It is also hand-quilted, but
more because that is what her Great-grandmother
would have done. |
